WHAT IS THE TURF GAMES SUMMER FITNESS FESTIVAL
We are bringing the Summer Festival experience to Sydney. The Turf Games is the ultimate team based fitness competition. While fitness and competition is at the heart of what we are about, our festivals are a celebration of the community and fun that we love about fitness. The competition is built for the athletes, while the festival atmosphere is all centered around the spectators and making it a great experience. There will be amazing music, food brands, drinks brands, tech brands and some great activation's around the venue.
SATURDAY 30TH NOVEMBER
CHOCOLATE BOX TRAINING
We are excited to announce this year's Sydney Turf Games will be at Chocolate Box Training (CBT) in Dee Why. Sound familiar? Our first Aussie event in November 2018 was here as well. This time around at CBT, it will be the festival experience with the whole venue both inside and out being used to make the event like no other - great food, great music, great athletes and BIG PRIZES.
DATE - Saturday 30th November 2019
LOCATION - Chocolate Box Training, Dee Why, Sydney
TIMINGS - Athletes arrive from 730am, finals from 4pm. Competition will end at 630pm with After Party in Manly from 8pm.
TEAMS - MIXED Teams of 5 athletes
ENTRY FEE - Early Bird is $450AUD*, then once sold out $500* per team, then $550 per team for the last remaining teams.
*Please note the purchase price will be in GBP, and the AUD will be the approximate price based on the exchange rate at the time.
HOW TO ENTER YOUR TEAM
When team entry goes on sale on 16th August, you don't need to put any athletes names in when purchasing. All you need to do IS -
- One team member who is going to buy the team needs to create an account HERE
- Once logged in and the event is live at 9am Sydney time on 16th August, you will need to click on the Sydney event square
- Then click on 'PURCHASE TICKET' at the top of the page
- Then click on 'CREATE A TEAM'
- Accept the Waiver
- Then choose the category (this is a one category comp - Mixed Open)
- Enter Team Name
- Then you are on the payment page - you can purchase the team (input card details)
The Turf Games Sydney Summer Festival will be 100 MIXED teams. Teams are 5 athletes - with no more than 3 guys per team. The workouts will be programmed based on a team make up of 3 guys and 2 girls. Teams can have 3 girls and 2 guys if they wish.
ALL teams will compete across 4 workouts with the top 4 placed teams going through to the ELITE 'Winner Takes All Final'. Teams that place 5th-8th will compete in the Everyday 'Plate Final'.
The winning ELITE team will win
- Free entry into the London Summer Festival June 2020
- 5 nights accommodation in London, and
- $1,000AUD cash.
The winning EVERYDAY team will win sponsors prizes.
This is a 'one category' competition. All athletes will be doing the same workouts during the 4 workout rounds, same format as our London Winter Festival 2019. However, post all the workouts in the 'rounds' there will be separate finals as mentioned above.
In the ELITE FINAL, the weights and intensity will go up a few notches.
We pride oursleves at the TURF GAMES as being the most inclusive functional fitness community and competition in the world. The workout format will all be revealed closer to the time - but in true Turf Games style - tactics, teamwork, engine, power and mental strength will be the theme!
Each team will compete in MINIMUM 4 workouts over the day. Each workout will be between 8 and 20 minutes. You will have approximately 40 minutes rest between workouts.
There will be no Oly lifting or gymnastic movements in any of the workouts or in the elite or everyday category finals
- Tyre flips, holds, presses
- Assault bikes
- Concept 2 Ski/Bike Ergs and Rowing machines
- Barbell work – deadlifts/shoulder press etc
- Dumbell snatches/Dumbell lunges
- Box jumps
- Burpees/air squats/sit ups/push ups
- Prowler push/pull
- Farmers walks
- Wall balls
- Rope climbs
- Sand bags carrys and so on...
ENTERING YOUR TEAM
Teams will need to buy there team at TURFGAMES.COM once entry goes live in JULY. Early bird prices will be $450 per team of 5 and then will go to $500 a team. To enter a team all you need to do is select the event, click buy and purchase the team. You don't need to enter any team names or athlete names at this stage. Once you have bought the team, we will be in touch in the coming months for you to set it up on our scoring platform and you can link your athletes then.
We know people suffer injuries or can't make an event so you may swap athletes in your team up to the week of the comp.
Team Aretas will be providing live scoring throughout the day so you will be able to see what you need to do to make the finals.
The scoring system will be lowest points go through to the finals i.e. If you come 1st in a workout, you will get 1 point and so on.

We are looking for volunteers to help out with registrations and general admin on the day as well as judges for the workouts. We will need 40 judges and 15 other crew.
