CHECK-IN
When you arrive at Battersea Park track, you will greeted by our team who will check you in and give you your wristband and Turf Engine Patch. Once inside the main gate and you are within the athletics track venue, please mind the runners making their way around the track. You can cross over to our vendor village and also the main workout arena.
TURF STORE
We will have our Turf apparel store with loads of cool hoodies, tees/tanks, socks, hats and more so be sure to come over to our stand.
BAG DROP
There will be a bag drop behind the start arch where you can leave your things while you race.
WATER
We will have a water refill station in front of the club house - please bring a refillable bottle. We will also have drinks from our partners Celsius, Applied Nutrition, Jubel (for post workout :) and more
START LINE ARCH
- Warm up will be in this area. You can use the warm up area up to 30mis prior to your heat start time
- You can collect your timing chip no more than 20mins prior to your start time.
- Please ensure you are in the start holding pen and checked in with the staff ready to start 10mins prior to your start time
- If you miss your heat start time we may not be able to let you compete due to lane allocation capacities.
ON GO - STARTING
The race begins with a 600m run. Once leaving the arch, you will run counter clockwise around the track. You will pass the IN arch once and continue around the track. On the second time you will enter the IN arch. You will run down the outer arena lane past all the other equipment until you get to the ski ergs and then run down to the farthest ski erg that is empty and start on the distance
DURING THE RACE
After each run, you must make your way back into the arena, run past the equipment / movement you are going to be on next, turn right and run down the lane until you get to an empty lane to start on. You cannot start the distance / movement until both you and your partner are in the lane.
Upon finishing each erg or movement block, you MUST NOT cut through the equipment to join the outside transition lane back to the track. Please see penalties below. For Example, in the map above, if you are heading to the ski erg, you must follow the red arrow and head to an empty ski. Once the distance is complete you must head to the black arrow and head up the lane to the track - you must not run through / in front of the ski ergs. This will result in a 3min penalty.
OH PLATE LUNGE
Everyday pairs - one athlete will pick up the plate out of the rack. The plate must be overhead - not resting on your head when moving. You must start with both feet behind the line before lunging. The non working athlete must be walking behind the working athlete. Once the plate is back in the rack provided, athletes may set off on the run.
Open Pairs - you will both pick up your correct plate. The plate must be held over head, not resting on your head when moving. There is no need for athletes to be synchro or going at the same pace on their lunges. Athletes cannot set off on the run until both athletes have finished the 80m lunge and both plates are back in the rack.
Length completion - Once the working athletes front foot clearly crosses the line, they can turn around and begin the next length. If any part of the foot is still on the line, another lunge must be performed.
KB CARRY ROUTE
One athlete will pick up the 2 x KBs and begin the carry. Athletes will head to the 'Out Arch' and on the run track (please be mindful of runners who are on their first 600m run - look right before entering the track). Once on the track, continue in the same direction as the run until you see the 1st Farmers carry turnaround flag. You will go around this flag clockwise and carry down the outer lanes of the track to the 2nd farmers carry flag. Once at this flag, go around clockwise and make your way back to the 'In Arch' - please be mindful of runners. The non working athlete must be behind the athlete carrying and the KBs must be passed backwards in order to change. When you are back from the KB carry, you must place the KBs on the mats provided before setting off on the next run. If you drop or throw the KBs you will be asked to come back and place them on the mat.
RUNS
All 400m runs are 1 loop of the track - out the 'Out Arch' and in the 'In Arch'. Upon finishing the Assault Bike, pairs will head out and sprint 200m to the Finish Line.
FINISH ARCH
Once you finish the race (WELL DONE!), please ensure you take off your timing chip and hand it to a member of staff. You can now support your fellow athletes and enjoy a burger from Heck and a beer at Jubel :)
