We're looking for an experienced, dynamic Event and Operations Manager to join our team and help drive the planning, logistics, and delivery of our events to the highest standard.
Role Overview
As the Event Operations Manager, you will lead the operational planning and onsite execution of Turf Games events. You’ll work closely with our internal team, venues, contractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure the smooth delivery of all logistics and health & safety and risk management protocols. The role offers flexible working with the opportunity to travel to exciting events across the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all operational aspects of Turf Games events - from planning through to delivery and post-event wrap-up.
- Create and manage detailed event run sheets, site plans, risk assessments, contractor schedules, and logistics timelines.
- Coordinate with venues, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and setup of infrastructure and services.
- Oversee event health and safety processes, including emergency planning, crowd management, and onsite compliance.
- Manage event accreditations, staffing schedules, equipment logistics, and event build/break timelines.
- Act as the primary onsite lead during events, ensuring efficient operations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining high standards of delivery.
- Support international expansion planning and operations as Turf Games grows into new markets.
- Collaborate with other departments including marketing, partnerships, and competition teams to align operational delivery with overall event objectives.
- Produce post-event debriefs and reports for continuous improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in live event operations, ideally in sports, fitness, or large-scale public events.
- Proven experience managing multi-vendor operations, site builds, and complex event logistics.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations in the event space; NEBOSH qualification is a bonus, but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Confidence working in fast-paced environments and leading teams under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Turf Games events across the UK and internationally as needed.
- Flexible and adaptable - thrives in a startup-style environment.
- Comfortable working remotely and independently on a day-to-day basis.
