As part of our 2023 London Summer Festival, we are excited to announce the return of our endurance fitness race, the ...
Following the success at the sold out London Summer Festival 2022 - we are looking at welcoming more people onto the TURF for this yeas event. The concept is an endurance race featuring all the machines we love - ski, row, bike + short runs and burpee broad jumps - testing your ENGINE! The workout will be between 35 and 50 minutes long - depending on your fitness level! You can sign up as a pair or individual.
HOW FAST CAN YOU GO?
Engine will run both Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July at our London Summer Festival at Ealing Trailfinders, W13 London.
This event is perfect for everyone - no matter what your fitness background, OCR, running, functional fitness - low skill... just pure Engine! We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy, compete and be part of the Turf Games community.
Your heat time will be provided to you up to 3 weeks before the event. You ENGINE ticket will allow you access to the Summer Festival all weekend to enjoy watching other athletes compete and take in the atmosphere.
Across the weekend we will have the following age categories -
- 16 - 34 years
All athletes in the above Individuals categories will compete in the same workout, however, athletes will be positioned on their relevant age based leaderboard.
The below age categories is an average age - you would add each athletes age together and divide by 2 to give your pair's age bracket (i.e. 40 y/o + 34 y/o = 35+ category)
- 16-34 years
All athletes in the above Pairs categories will compete in the same workout, however, athletes will be positioned on their relevant age based leaderboard.
The following categories will compete on Saturday
- Male Pairs - all ages
- Female Pairs - all ages
The following categories will compete on Sunday
- Mixed Pairs - all ages
- Male + female Individuals - all ages
Individual - £60
Pairs - £110
An example of an individual and pairs workouts are below. Pairs will have one machine on each station and swap in and out as they wish, both pairs will run and perform the burpee broad jumps.
This event is about pacing - you come out of the gates too 'hot' and you will soon be in the hurt locker quite soon. You have plenty of time to train leading into the event - find a pace that you can hold comfortably for a distance and stick to your plan.
