It is fair to say that our week in Dubai exceeded our expectations, then some!
The 8th to 14th March 2020 saw the Under Armour Turf Games touch down for the first time in the city of Dubai. We were blown away by the support we received from the local fitness community with the event selling out well ahead of the competition and a huge demand on the waitlist making it the biggest Turf Games for the first time in a new city.
A week of workouts, beach swims, waterparks, seeing the sights and eating was topped off with an epic Under Armour Turf Games that saw 33 teams go head to head in a series of killer workouts at CrossFit Alioth on March 13th.
Thank you to everyone that competed from the UAE, and to the athletes from the UK and Australia that flew out to take part. Thank you to all the spectators for showing their support to us and the athletes, and to all those that turned up to help and judge on the day.
We are also beyond grateful to our partners Under Armour Middle East who supported the whole week, Matter Nutrition for fueling all judges and athletes and Barebells.
Big thanks to Sean Ellison for shooting the below videos (@seanellison)

Our International City Tours aren't just about the one day competition. They are a week long experience - seeing new cities, connecting with local communities and experiencing new fitness adventures with like minded people. Here's a little recap on what the Under Armour Turf Games crew got up to while in Dubai.
Dubai has a HUGE range of functional fitness gyms to get stuck in to while in town, both in and around the city and also on the northern beaches. Here are four of the best that hosted us for workouts
We opened the Dubai week with a session at Project DXB. This venue is outdoors and has all the fun stuff you need for a solid workout. Jack and Anna are amazing and will ensure you get a decent session in. Make sure you ask to complete the 40 story stair challenge ;)
Run by Craig Harriman, Base3 has all the toys from rigs, to bars to yokes and sleds. Craig put us through a pretty brutal cardio session with rowers, assault bikes and sled pushes.
WH Gym in Al Quoz is one of the coolest gyms we have been to. Globo gym machines and weights, mixed with an unreal functional fitness area and set up all with cool lighting and graffiti covered walls. We were lucky enough to have the WH Gym OG's host the session - Jesse Akister, Mike Pantz, Enrique Cerda and Lindsey Beard.
It wouldn't be a fitness week in Dubai without getting a beach workout in. We partnered with local functional fitness studio The Den and its founder, Michael Sole to put together an epic session on Umm Suqeim Beach for us. Sand runs, swimming, dballs and burpees made for an unreal session.
If you like great breakfasts and even better coffee, Dubai will not disappoint. We managed to get to a few of the top spots during our stay

A must when in Dubai is visiting one of the waterparks. We got the crew together and went to Atlantis Hotel on The Palm. This was definitely one of the highlights of the week. Fast slides, plenty of fun and a few cold drinks to end the day.
Dubai is really a city of adventure with so much to explore and see and do. We are already planning Dubai 2.0 so watch this space
