ARCHON X HOME GAMES 5.0

We are excited to bring to life our partnership with ARCHON, a data driven scoring methodology business.

For Workout 3 in Home Games 5.0, we will be utilising this methodology for the first time, to give our community a little taste of what is to come with this new way of scoring.

Using a huge amount of data from various sources, Archon has built an algorithm that will give each athlete their 'relative' score - taking into account 5 key measurements -

  • Gender
  • Age
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Wingspan

When you set up your Archon account you will be asked for these data points.  If you don't know your wingspan, which is finger tip to finger tip of your outstretched horizontal arms, you can just enter the same measurement as your height.

HOW TO SCORE WORKOUT 3

Workout 3 will be the same workout for Individual Bodyweight and Mixed Pairs.  Once the workout is live, contained in the workout will be further information plus a a PIN Code (255193) you will need to access Home Games 5.0 on the Archon Platform.

We have been conditioned into thinking that whoever crosses the finishing line first wins.  In most cases this is true.  But this is only when you measure the outcome of a particular activity based on a single unit of work.  And by doing so what you are really saying is that anyone who wants to compete in that event has to be categorised into a particular group, Male, Female, Age, Weight Class, etc.  This means that everyone who competes normally looks the same, same age, weight, height, and gender give or take.  So what's different about Golf?  Golf has a handicap which means that you can play with anyone else regardless of what they look like, and ultimately it will be the person who performs the best after 18 holes that will walk away as the winner.  We've taken this concept and built it into a new format of fitness competition, one where you will be measured on your performance regardless of what you look like, for the first time you will be judged solely on what you can do, and if that's better than what someone else can do, then you win.

Why now?  The focus within fitness has shifted, people are now focusing much more on what you can do rather than what you look like.  We celebrate girls lifting heavy weights, but there is still a disconnect that those weights are inferior to those being lifted by their male counterparts.  Because of this, our competitions don't measure load lifted, we measure on power to weight.  Lifting 2.5 times your body weight is 2.5 times your body weight, it doesn't matter about anything else.  We've managed to do the same for rowing, running, burpees, box jumps and all other manner of fitness movements in order to create a series of workouts that will showcase great performances, not just great physiques.

So come and compete in the knowledge that whatever the person next to you looks like, it won't matter then the timer starts, what will matter, is only what matters most, that your best, is better than their best.

We do competition differently.
