The countdown is well and truly on, and we can't wait to see everyone on the TURF for our second DUBAI CITY SERIES event.

Please read on for some key information on the event.  

If your team mates are not linked to your team on Team Aretas they will not be getting key info and we will not know their tee size - can you please link them all this week.


Max & Aegle - Muscat St - Dubai - United Arab Emirates.

The best way to get to the venue is to either drive or get a taxi.  There is parking at the venue. If you can, please 'carpool' with a few athletes or spectators to reduce the number of cars parking.


Under Amour Middle East is kindly providing all athletes competing at the Dubai City Series with an exclusive UA Turf Games top.  These will be ready for athletes to collect from the Under Armour Dubai Mall store between store opening hours 27th October to 2nd November.  The store address is Financial Center Rd - Downtown Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates.

The top will be in an Under Armour Ozsee Sackpack with some other information on the event.  Only one of the team is required to pick up the bags and tops.  You will need to show the email you received from Team Aretas when you signed your team up to collect.

While these are not compulsory to wear when competing we would love if teams did wear, or at least brought to the competition so we can get some great team photos. 


One workout, as mentioned will have a swimming element.  Max & Aegle has a 25m swimming pool where that event will take place.  Again, not all athletes must swim to complete the workout, but a minimum of 2 will need to be able too.  So make sure you bring a towel and something to swim in if you will be getting wet!


In accordance with events being held in Dubai, we will be asking all attendees to show proof of double vaccination, or a negative PCR test done in the 72 hours prior to the event.

The event will be outdoors, with only toilets, some food and change rooms inside the building.  Athletes when NOT competing and spectators, will need to be in a mask and maintain 2m social distancing.


Teams exact heat times will be released 7 days before the event. Please see below for key timings.

THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS 4th November - ELITE teams only

  • Gates open 5pm. Athletes to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to their heat start time.
  • First heat 6pm, with heats starting every 30 minutes after this, with the last heat starting at 8pm.

*if you would prefer a later heat time due to work commitments etc please email us with your team name and we will endeavour to make this work.

GAME DAY, Friday 5th November - Everyday + Elite Teams

  • Athlete check-in will open at 8am.
  • Round 1, heat 1 will be at 910am.   We ask that teams arrive no earlier than 70 minutes before their start time.  This will help out with distancing and reduce wait times at the check in counter.  
  • Round 2, heat 1 - 11.00am
  • Round 3, heat 1 - 12.45pm
  • Round 4, heat 1 - 14.30pm
  • Elite Final - 16.30pm
  • Podiums - 17.00pm
  • After Party from 8pm




Champions - £1,500 cash + 20,000AED Under Armour Store credit for the team
2nd Place - 15,000AED Under Armour Store credit for the team
3rd Place - 10,000AED Under Armour Store credit for the team

*the UA store credit is to be spent in the Under Armour Dubai stores only and the amount is for the whole team.

We are looking for people to help out with judging and crew across the event.  Should you know any friends or your gym members that might be keen, please as them to fill this form in HERE.  All members of our team will receive Under Armour top, bottoms and shoes to keep as well as food and drinks throughout the day.

Please ensure all 5 athletes are linked to your team on the Team Aretas website no later than Friday 22nd October.  You may change athletes in your team up until the day before the competition.  Please ensure you team name is what you want as this will be locked and unable to be changed from Saturday 23rd October.

You are NOT allowed to sub athletes in to your team once you start your first workout - the 5 who start the day, must be the same 5 who finish the day.  This also goes for the Elite teams, the 5 athletes who do the Thursday Night Lights workout, must be the 5 who compete in the team on Friday.


We will have a recovery hub area at this years event, led by My Physio.  There will be physio, massage therapists and strappers on hand to sort out any niggles. This will be free to use across the weekend for all athletes.

Over the day we will also have trained first aid staff in attendance.    We know how hard some of you work out and compete, so please do what you can to prepare and recover for the big day.  

We want to make sure everyone has a super enjoyable day so if you have any concerns or injuries please speak to your judge or one of the TG staff.  If you are feeling light headed or unwell please let someone know as soon as possible so we can ensure you get recovered and can enjoy the day.  


In terms of what you can and can't wear when working out.  

  • Athletes CAN wear - knee and elbow supports, weightlifting belts, chalk, lifting shoes, wrist straps, sunglasses, sunscreen, hats etc
  • Athletes CAN'T wear - anything that attaches to a bar to aid grip or strength


We will have a nice selection of food and drink options for all those in attendance at the event - from coffees, to wraps to salads.

DRINKING WATER - there will be numerous areas around the venue to refill your water bottle.  We are trying to reduce plastic and waste - so if you bring a  a bottle of water from - please make sure you drink it all and don't leave half filled in the arena.  We would encourage you to bring a bottle and refill throughout the day.


On each lane in the arena's, the judge will have the scoresheet where your teams score will be written.  At the end of your workout, you need to check that the score written next to your team name is accurate and sign next to the score.

Once you are happy and signed your score sheet, you may leave the arena taking all that you brought in - water bottles, chalk, tape etc.  The score will then be inputted into the scoreboard.

We have a LIVE scoreboard at the event powered by Team Aretas.  It takes around 5 minutes to update scores.  Please note, until ALL teams in your category (i.e. mixed teams) have completed the workout, your points are going to fluctuate.
